orgo Il Poeta sits in ten acres of grounds and landscaped gardens overlooking the Tiber valley. All the houses have views of fields and wooded hills. They each have an outside area for eating and relaxing and the "piazzale" is an ideal place to meet with other guests. Within the grounds is a pool (6.4x13m) with views over the valley and a small pool for infants.
There also a tennis court, bocce ball and a small croquet lawn.

This corner of Umbria has a wealth of places to visit. Perugia, Gubbio, Assisi, San Sepolcro, Cortona and Città di Castello are among the larger towns and Montone, Spello, Bevegna and Monterchi among the smaller but no less important jewels. Apart from the wealth of art to be seen - San Sepolcro is the birthplace of Piero della Francesca - there are events all the year around. Gubbio has its famous race of the "cerri" in May, Perugia has the World renowned jazz festival, Montone has a flower festival to celebrate Corpus Domini on the first Sunday in June when the streets are decorated with petals.
The Autumn brings with it truffles and there is a truffle fair at Città di Castello. This area is also famous for wild mushrooms, in particular "porcini" mushrooms. The village of Montone holds a festival at the end of October where you will find the Autumn fruits of the forest from chestnuts and truffles to honey. Eugenio and Louise Grippo produce very high quality olive oil and, from the end of October through the month of November guests may visit the olive press and see the olives being pressed and the oil produced.
It is also wonderful for those who like walking and in Perugia there are two golf clubs which our guests can use.
Over the Christmas and New Year festivities villages including Assisi, Corciano and Volterrano have "nativities".
